We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and compassionate Lead Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team in a large maintained secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting students with communication and interaction needs, including those with autism, to take on a leadership role and help shape high-quality provision across the school.
As our Lead LSA for Communication and Interaction, you will:
1. Provide expert support to students with communication and interaction needs, helping them access learning and thrive in school.
2. Lead, guide, and support a team of LSAs to ensure consistent, high‑quality practice.
3. Work closely with teaching staff, SEND colleagues, and external professionals to deliver personalised strategies and interventions.
4. Model best practice in the classroom and contribute to developing inclusive teaching approaches.
5. Support with planning, monitoring, and reviewing student progress within your specialist area.
What We’re Looking For
6. A committed individual with a strong understanding of communication and interaction needs.
7. Experience supporting students with autism — this would be a significant advantage.
8. Someone with excellent communication skills who can build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
9. A proactive, organised, and confident team player who is ready to take on additional responsibility.
10. An individual passionate about removing barriers and enabling all learners to succeed.
What We Offer
11. Opportunities for specialist training and professional development.
12. The chance to lead meaningful, impactful work that transforms students’ school experience.
13. A vibrant secondary school environment where every day is different.
If you are committed to inclusion and excited by the opportunity to lead in a specialist area, we would love to hear from you.
