A Vacancy at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and dedicated individual to join our busy Eye Clinic at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Lead and work as part of the Eye Casualty Triaging team providing clinical leadership and expertise in ophthalmic cases.
* Act as a resource to the multi‑professional team and participate in the coordination of patient care to ensure continuity throughout the patient’s care pathway in Eye Casualty.
* Be an integral part of developing the Eye Casualty service, working alongside the Ophthalmic Matron, Clinical Service Lead and ophthalmic specialist nurses.
* Operate autonomously at an advanced level of clinical practice, providing research‑based expert care and advice to all colleagues and managing a caseload effectively, making the most of available time within the Ophthalmic Referral Service.
* Accept referrals from medical/nursing staff both within and external to the Trust, of newly diagnosed and existing patients.
* Periodically review caseload and discharge patients appropriately within divisional guidelines.
* Ensure that patients are seen within the recommended time scales and targets where these are in place.
* Utilise specialist skills, underpinned by in‑depth theoretical knowledge, to facilitate the assessment, planning and implementation of individualised programmes of care for patients presenting with a specialist condition and evaluate those programmes of care.
