Assistant Farm Manager – Staffordshire - £36,000 + Accommodation
The Job
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Farm Manager to join a highly respected and long-established free-range poultry business in Staffordshire. This is a key leadership role working alongside the Farm Manager to support the day-to-day operations and uphold high welfare standards. Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting with the production cycle from day-old chicks through to depopulation
2. Conducting daily stock checks to ensure optimal bird health and environment
3. Overseeing brooding, bedding, feeding, shed hygiene, and general husbandry tasks
4. Operating farm machinery and preparing sheds
5. Maintaining high standards at all times and leading the team in the manager’s absence
6. Working 50 hours per week, including alternate weekends and rota-based catching duties
7. Reporting directly to the Farm Manager

* Proven experience in agriculture is essential (poultry experience not necessary)
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to oversee a team and maintain standards
* Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to animal welfare
* Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
* Ability to support the wider team and step up when required
The Package
* £36,000 annual salary
* Mobile home accommodation available OR an accommodation allowance (discussed at interview)
* 28 days holiday plus 1 additional day per year of service up to 5 years
* Full-time, permanent position with immediate start available
