About the role
Pay Details: Grade 3 - £25,583 pro rata, £13.26 /hr + enhancements paid for weekends, bank holidays & unsociable hours worked
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 33.5 hours per week
Main Place of Work: Southway, Cowbridge
To undertake the general minor maintenance tasks in the Residential home including painting, decorating, health and safety checks and the maintenance of grounds and gardens. Provide a porter service; undertake the moving of equipment, delivery/collection duties and order/store stock.
About you
You will need:
1. Experience of maintenance tasks, including painting, decorating, minor carpentry /gardening
2. Knowledge of Health and Safety issues
3. Knowledge of the needs of vulnerable people/older people
4. Knowledge and commitment to the concepts of Equality
5. Literate, numerate and able to interpret written and verbal instruction
6. Able to communicate well with members of the team and service users
7. Willingness to drive council vehicle if required
8. Positive and self-motivated
9. Sociable, compassionate ‘people person’
10. Flexible in approach to role, tasks and working hours
11. Physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks, including weeding, mowing/strimming, moving furniture etc.
12. Willingness to undertake training as required
13. Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
