Role summary: To provide quality management for the Hub Operations within the Hub on a day to day basis, to ensure all aspects of the Operation are maintained in line with procedures and ensuring all internal and external Customer SLAs are met, along with ensuring that all Key Performance Indicator Targets are met, whilst maintaining strict controls on the Direct costs and staffing levels. Key responsibilities Manage and drive operational processes utilising the Hub Management team to maintain and improve KPI targets. Manage and control the local and national distribution process to maintain and improve accuracy of sort. Work within the Hub direct Cost and indirect budget and identify and improve productivity levels while looking to reduce cost. Encourage and promote positive employee relations through the management teams. Provide daily / weekly reports on all operational and Direct Cost performances. Implement and maintain best operational practices through management of the SOPs. Build and develop the relationship between the hub, the SCs and depots to drive efficiency and good practice throughout the network while improving SLAs and trunk departure times. As senior manager for Health and Safety you will promote safe working with regular meetings and working closely with the Safety reps To encourage a positive working environment that delivers excellent service levels for the customers and generates revenue for the business. To support the Head of Linehaul and Hubs in the roll out of new products and processes To identifying and achieve efficiency savings and cost/productivity reviews To have a flexible approach towards shift patterns in order to be able to work between both AM and PM shifts as the operation requires To actively promote and encourage a Can Do attitude and approach within the Hub team at all levels. To drive and improve multi skill training within the Hub but also working closely with all SCs and the DX Secure Bureau in Northampton Essential criteria for this role Good communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated and able to drive and motivate a management team and staff Able to make clear and sound decisions whilst working under pressure Flexible and positive to their approach to operational changes Can do attitude Analytical skills to enable trend and cost analysis Strong people manager and team builder Hands on approach to work and team building Able to work on own initiative without supervision Able to translate and drive forward business objectives Strong forward planner Additional information on this role If you have previous experience of managing teams in fast-paced mail/distribution environments and have the ambition to develop your leadership skills, then we would love to hear from you.
