CNC Miller
We’re recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller to join a well-established precision engineering business based in Poole. This is a great opportunity for a skilled machinist with strong offline programming experience who wants to be involved in complex multi-axis machining projects within a technically driven manufacturing environment.
The company is looking for a capable CNC Miller who can support production through efficient programme development, process improvement, and close collaboration with manufacturing and quality teams. This role goes beyond purely shop-floor machining and would suit someone who enjoys improving processes, solving machining challenges, and supporting high-quality production across advanced CNC operations.

Role Overview As a CNC Miller, your responsibilities will include:
Creating and developing CNC programmes offline for 3, 4, and 5-axis machine tools
Programming using Edgecam and Fusion 360
Producing setup sheets, tooling definitions, and tooling plans
Proving out programmes and supporting smooth introduction into production
Developing and improving manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality
Defining production routings, tooling, work holding, and inspection requirements
Supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
Collaborating with quality and production teams to maintain standards
Supporting new product introduction and lifecycle planning activitiesWhat They’re Looking For The business is keen to speak with candidates who have experience working as a CNC Miller with strong offline programming capability.
You’ll ideally have:
Proven experience with offline CNC programming
Strong CNC machining background across milling and turning
Experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis machining environments
Experience using Edgecam and Fusion 360
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
Good understanding of tooling strategies and machining processes
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Confident communication skills across engineering and production teamsThe following would also be beneficial:
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Experience within precision engineering environments
Continuous improvement or manufacturing engineering experienceWhat’s on Offer
