Job Opportunity: Systems Optimisation Engineer
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to take on the important role of Systems Optimisation Engineer. You will work alongside the System Optimisation Analyst to manage access to the clean water hydraulic system.
The Systems Optimisation Engineer will develop and implement a sustainable long-term strategy to operate a stable system (including production sites and network) within regulatory requirements, ensuring high area reporting availability.
Due to the nature of this role, you can be based at various sites depending on your location.
* Base Location: Hybrid - Deephams N9 0BA
* Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, 36 hours per week, plus standby Rota with additional pay
* Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
Responsibilities
1. Manage technical issues during emergency events and support business change initiatives, collaborating with the leakage team and stakeholders.
2. Lead risk review processes for hydraulic system risks, devising contingency plans and supporting investment business cases.
3. Investigate and resolve low-pressure issues, complaints, and escalations, understanding system areas and developing solutions.
4. Lead technical operations during unplanned emergencies to minimize customer impact and system disruptions.
5. Assess risk for work impacting the hydraulic system, such as leak repairs and network outages.
6. Develop operating strategies with the water control centre, balancing leakage reduction and customer pressures.
7. Analyze operational data, resolve complex problems, and update system schematics for management and investigation.
8. Perform Out-of-hours coordinator duties on a technical standby roster.
Candidate Requirements
1. Self-motivated with a disciplined approach, eager to learn and contribute positively to the team.
2. Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline, with industry experience preferred.
3. In-depth knowledge of hydraulic principles.
4. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
5. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and develop.
6. Full driving license and own transport are desirable due to site visits.
