Health Care Support Worker - General Surgery
Join the NHS Scotland team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary as a Health Care Support Worker in the Emergency Laparotomy and Enhanced Recovery (ELLSA/ERAS) Team.
Shift pattern: 5 shifts over 7 days. Position is part‑time with pro‑rata salary.
Responsibilities
* Support patient rehabilitation following emergency laparotomy and enhanced recovery procedures.
* Engage patients and carers in daily goal‑setting, strengthening and mobility activities.
* Assist with mobilisation, motivation and goal‑setting; provide appliance support.
* Promote patient wellbeing, emotional support and overall wellbeing.
* Collect and record data for audit and quality‑improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Healthcare support experience, preferably in post‑operative recovery.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Basic IT literacy, including data entry.
* Knowledge of ERAS/ELLSA protocols is desirable.
* Motivation, compassion, flexibility and willingness to learn.
