Full Time – Permanent Contract £40,000-£45,000/annum OTE (£35,000/annum Base Salary) Onsite Role Based at Mad Swans in the Mendips (Bristol) Mad Swans is looking for a full-time Group Head of Events to join our budding team. You’ll be the first person to step into these shoes and shape this brand-new role based at our first site: Mad Swans in the Mendips. Mad Swans in the Mendips is located in Farrington Gurney near to Bristol & Bath. Full Address: Marsh Lane, Farrington Gurney, Bristol, BS39 6TS. This summer, we’re opening our first countryside hangout for mavericks. The unruly. The friendship groups you wish you were in. The families you want to hang out with. Social play spanning Padel Tennis, Pickleball, Darts, Shuffleboard and Golf gives guests the chance to explore one game or sample them all, across a few hours, a day, or a long weekend. We’re all about great food, which is why we’ve teamed up with experts in their field to create two distinct dining experiences and endless ways to enjoy them. The Potting Shed proudly boasts a menu of refreshing takes on Brasserie classics while, in The Hangout, the focus is on shareable plates with no compromise on flavour. But wherever guests find themselves, from course to court, the meadow to the orchard, they’re never far from a plate of something delicious to satisfy any craving. And, for evenings that go on forever, an Eco Cabin for the night is only a starlit walk through the wilderness away. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in all things Mad Swans, from padel lessons to cocktail workshops, after all, we want you to be as excited by our product as we are. What there is to it The Group Head of Events will proactively sell a variety of Events such as weddings, parties, conferences, company team days to both corporate businesses and individual guests. This is a brand-new role within the Mad Swans team which will be selling a new proposition, space and concept to the market. The target audiences for Events are both corporate businesses and individual guests. Corporate businesses may like to book a company team away day, conference or meeting, or they may like to book a party for an occasion. Individual guests maybe interested in private parties, events or weddings. There is also the opportunity to upsell eco-cabins for overnight stays for all guests whatever the occasion. The key duties and responsibilities of this role will include: Pro-actively sell our Event spaces, and ideally upsell eco-cabins, to both corporate businesses and individual guests Achieving an ambitious sales revenue target and budget Work closely with our Commercial Team to create exciting brand collateral to help promote and drive event and eco-cabin/room sales. Map out a sales process in relation to selling events Identify who the right people are in each business before reaching out to them Approach each business, present our event spaces and accommodation offering, and create excitement around our new brand Create significant interest and multiple sales leads at pace Showcase Mad Swans to corporate businesses and follow up promptly with sales leads and enquiries Convert enquiries and sales leads to confirmed sales Upsell sales by offering accommodation, extras for the eco-cabins and extra nights Relationship management to secure further and ongoing sales Attend relevant conferences and exhibitions in order to showcase both Mad Swans and our event spaces, and to create new sales leads Drive further and future sales with corporate businesses Update and maintain the CRM system Monthly reporting and reconciliation Liaising with the Finance Team to ensure payments are received in a timely manner Internal and external client/customer entertainment, including events and taster sessions onsite to drive interest and excitement for our brand This is a full-time permanent position and will work any five out of seven days. The OTE for this role is £40,000-£45,000/annum and the base salary for this role is £35,000/annum. Location – this is an onsite role and will be located at Mad Swans in the Mendips, Marsh Lane, Farrington Gurney, Bristol, BS39 6TS. Working Hours – the working hours will generally be core office hours, however, working times will vary when we run events. Working Days – this role will work any five out of seven days. Who we’re looking for We are looking for a Group Head of Events who is: A proven and experienced sales manager Experienced in terms of delivering an ambitious sales target and budget Results driven and driven to achieve ambitious sales revenue targets Excited about launching and actively selling a new and unique product Able to present a new product to the market very quickly Comfortable working in a “start-up” business and environment Highly successful at opening doors, engaging with potential corporate customers and creating strong sales leads Excellent at establishing strong relationships with potential corporate customers Efficient at following up with potential corporate customers An excellent communicator and negotiator Strong organisational skills and able to multi-task Confident, outgoing and well-presented Happy to be hands-on in a standalone sales role Self-driven and highly motivated Happy and able to work both independently and as part of a team Proactive, positive and resilient by nature Solutions driven Comfortable working in a very fast paced environment Please note, you must be eligible to work in the UK as we are unable to sponsor any work permits or visas.
