Offer description

This is a new exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Team Recruiter to support us at our Broughty Ferry Save the Children Shop.

We want to raise the profile of our shop and available volunteering opportunities there, through online promotion and engagement with the local community. Your support will help us to grow our team, increase our trading hours, income and impact We're looking for someone that loves meeting new people and can support with recruitment fairs and pop up information stands at local venues.

Please note that this is a voluntary, unpaid role, based in the UK. We are unfortunately not able to provide support with visa requests. Candidates must be over 18.

Suggested Involvement

It's up to you This is a role that can be tailored around your availability and particular interests. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more.

Why volunteer with Save the Children?

In over 110 countries, we support children to transform their lives. By providing live-saving short-term help, and pushing for deep-rooted social change, we help children take, their future into their own hands. We believe every child has the right to learn. Every child should have good food to fuel their bodies and every child should have medicine when they're sick.

Skills and Experiences Required

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. Full training and ongoing support will be provided but good organisational skills and local knowledge of the area will come in handy. You'll also need to be comfortable chatting to people on the phone. This is a really important role within the team with plenty of scope to bring your own creativity and imagination to it Whether you want to build and evidence this skillset on your cv or you are keen to share your expertise in recruitment and community engagement, what's important to us is that you are a team player, open to learning and willing to follow Save the Children's policies as well as be an excellent representative for Save the Children

What happens next?

After you've filled in an application, we will invite you for an informal trial shift. It's a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the shop tasks. We'll also take the time at this informal trial shift to chat through some questions with you, specific to the Team Recruiter role – about how and where you would recruit other volunteers. We will provide you these questions in advance, hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it's for you.
