Role Summary
Identify and manage the risks to client equipment on site, including identifying critical spares, improving performance of plant and equipment, managing environmental conditions through the BMS system, and running all plant and equipment efficiently. Improve and implement the preventative maintenance program.
Responsibilities
* Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance to plant, equipment and building services.
* Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working and comfortable environment.
* Liaise with the client on reactive and preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks.
* Fault find on all types of HVAC plant and equipment, with a bias to Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning systems.
* Handle refrigerant with F‑Gas handling qualifications.
* Support others in health and safety.
* Act as Energy Champion and assist as Safety Champion on the site.
* Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
* Write and follow risk assessments and question any issues that arise.
* Complete required documentation in accordance with rules and legislation.
* Use mobile devices to project and complete work from the CAFM maintenance system.
* Plan daily work using email and calendar tools.
* Liaise with on‑site supervisor and account manager to manage building services issues.
* Act as responsible person for the team and deputise for the site supervisor during leave or sickness.
* Work overtime, including nights and weekends, with notice that may not always be given.
* Perform ad‑hoc duties as required.
* Supervise and manage subcontractors.
* Participate in the on‑call rota for emergency call‑out outside normal working hours.
Qualifications
* Recognised or time‑served apprenticeship.
* Strong proven experience in HVAC maintenance.
* Mechanical competences/qualifications acceptable to City and Guilds Mechanical.
* Good multi‑skilled ability.
* Ability to fault find.
* Ability to supervise contractors.
* Ability to complete risk assessments and method statements.
* Ability to understand and write permits and safe systems of work.
* F‑Gas safe handling and use of refrigerants.
Desirable
* Working at height qualification.
* IPAF / PASMA.
* AP qualifications.
* BMS system experience.
* HVAC controls.
