Project Manager — Carterton, Oxfordshire

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in engineering? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our growing team in Carterton. In this key role, you’ll take ownership of complex engineering projects from concept through to delivery, working closely with design, production, and client teams to ensure seamless execution.
Project Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
* Participate in client-facing meetings to define project requirements and scope, offering value-engineered solutions where applicable
* Conduct comprehensive site surveys to inform project planning
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, including labour and resource allocation
* Develop detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project, Excel, or equivalent planning tools
* Attend pre-construction meetings with clients to align expectations and timelines
* Lead and coordinate on-site project teams and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution
* Ensure all projects are delivered safely on time, within scope, and within budget
* Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
* Provide regular progress updates and proactively address any project-related issues
* Manage project budgets and track expenditure, ensuring financial accountability
* Ensure all work complies with MOD regulations and CDM (Construction Design & Management) requirements
Project Manager Ideal Candidate:
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, specifically within reactive maintenance, small works, or refurbishment projects
* Proven experience conducting site surveys and translating findings into actionable plans
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to produce accurate and detailed cost estimates
* Competence in creating project programs and overseeing full project life cycles
* Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and First Aid certification
* Excellent organisational, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills
* Solid understanding of construction methodologies and health & safety regulations
* Full, clean UK driving licence
Project Manager Working Hours and Benefits:
* Monday – Thursday, 07:30 – 17:00
* Friday, 07:30 – 16:00
* 45-minute unpaid break
* 15-minute paid break
