Overview
The Health Care Assistant will work with more experienced Registered and Unregistered practitioners, providing support to health and social care professionals. The aim is to assess service users within a short period of time and identify the most appropriate treatment pathway.
The interview process will include a Maths and English test, together with a role play.
Responsibilities
* Display a considerable degree of initiative and possess mature judgment.
* Maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with service users, their relatives, the police, colleagues and visitors.
* Work closely with service users and provide supportive observations; support the MDT by giving detailed information to support safe and accurate assessments.
* Follow infection control, safeguarding and trust policies.
* Attend mandatory training, including RESPECT training (physical restraint).
* Carry out physical health observations (e.g., checking vital signs) and report back to the nursing team.
* Escort service users to hospital if required.

Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience of working as a carer.
* Experience of mental health services.
* Experience of caring for vulnerable adults.
