Position Overview
We are looking for a Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our integrated team which works across the health and social care partnership on a fixed‑term basis for 6 months.
Key Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary therapy team in the Balfour, in intermediate care (homefirst, ageing well and ICT), in the community and in outpatients.
* Support service-user discharge from hospital or prevent admission to hospital and facilitate packages of rehabilitation to the Community of Orkney.
Qualifications and Experience
* SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent demonstrable experience in a health or social care setting.
* Experience working directly with patients/service users.
* An understanding of the role of rehabilitation, with relevant experience that supports the ethos and aims of the team.
* Evidence of participation in education and training relevant to rehabilitation and enablement-based working.
* A good standard of general education.
Driving Licence Requirement
A full current UK driving licence is essential. If, by virtue of a disability, an applicant has the qualifications and experience to perform the role but is unable to drive, consideration will be given to reasonable adjustments, including alternative transport arrangements.
Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration
Post based at The Balfour, relief basis, 6‑month fixed‑term contract. Flexible, secondment and hybrid working arrangements will be considered. The candidate must live and remain a resident within the UK.
