Teledyne Impulse-PDM designs and manufactures underwater connectors and harnesses for harsh environments. Impulse-PDM has over 30 years experience in mechanical, electrical, and optical design, as well as considerable expertise in material selection for subsea applications.

Today, our products are used in harsh conditions in a broad range of industries including; oil and gas; marine; nuclear; renewable energy; Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles; Autonomous Underwater Vehicles; oceanographic; geophysical, and scientific.

Teledyne Impulse-PDM continues to enjoy successful growth by working closely with customers to gain a clear understanding of their requirements and we have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join our team.

Ideally the role will be located in the Aberdeen area, however we are open to consider applicants from across the UK.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager is responsible for Sales of Teledyne PDM products in the defined area both directly and through distributors, specific responsibility to support the UK Territory for Teledyne PDM’s Interconnect Solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsibility to build and maintain an active pipeline to exceed orders and sales targets on a quarterly, and annual basis.

2. Provide accurate booking forecasts and keep up-to-date customer and pipeline records.

3. Actively manage the channels to ensure they are fully engaged, optimised, and driven to succeed.

4. Develop and drive a regional sales strategy to maximize market penetration of Teledyne PDM’s Interconnect Solutions including new market entries both direct and with channel partners.

5. Identify new opportunities that fall within PDM’s expertise for encapsulation, moulding and cable design manufacture

6. Promote PDM’s new connector press capability and actively participate in the plan to keep the new presses busy 24/7

7. Orchestrate and hold technical seminars, product presentations and customer demon­strations direct and in conjunction with partners and channels.

8. Remain informed of competitor status, products, advantages, and weaknesses.

9. Develop and maintain a solid understanding of market conditions and trends.

10. Identify opportunities and capture market share growth while collaborating with the Teledyne Interconnect and Marine businesses to optimize efforts.

11. Be responsible for discovering Teledyne PDM non-standard sales opportunities and participate in the selling process in collaboration with product management.

12. Understand fully the benefits and functionality of each of the products in Teledyne PDM Interconnect Solutions and how they compare within the market.

13. Other activities as defined by the European Business Development Manager

EDUCATION:

14. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience

15. Relevant background/education in a maritime and/or organization would be advantageous.

SKILLS:

16. Strong interpersonal acumen, communicate effectively from entry level to C-suite customers.

17. Languages needed – English, fluent. Competency in other European Languages would be advantageous

18. Excellent communication ability with all nationalities, written as well as verbal.

19. Ability to have or attain good comprehension of technical/maritime & Interconnect issues. Knowledge of connector technology, particularly in harsh environments

20. Experience of working in a manufacturing company preferred

21. Previous experience of working within Defence and Energy Markets

22. Ability to provide technical presentations and present information effectively to customers.

23. Goal-orientated team player

24. Experience of extensive travel throughout Europe
