The Borough of Broxbourne Council is hiring a Trainee Housing Solutions Officer (Homelessness) on a fixed‑term 12‑month contract based in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire at Bishops College.

* Working pattern: Full time (37 hours per week)
* Salary: Starting £37,017.76 p.a.

Responsibilities
* Work in a customer‑facing role, interviewing and assessing those at risk of homelessness.
* Manage a caseload of clients, collaborating with colleagues and other agencies to provide advice and solutions.
* Support households in resolving their housing needs.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of client interactions and case progress.
Requirements
* Previous experience working within a local authority, housing or homelessness setting (transferable skills considered).
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, with an understanding of tenancy and homelessness services.
* Excellent communication skills – spoken and written English.
* Fluency in spoken English and ability to conduct sensitive conversations.
* Good written and analytical skills; GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths required.
* Full driving licence.
* Highly motivated with a genuine interest in helping people.
