Role Summary
* Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing data platform solutions.
* Play a pivotal role in the Data & Analytics team, shaping the future of data architecture.
* Mentor BI Platform Architects and contribute to the growth of the technical community.
* Drive architecture strategy for Azure and Databricks-based platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Architect and deliver end-to-end data platform solutions using Azure and Databricks, aligned with strategic frameworks.
* Develop and own technical solution architecture documents for key work packages.
* Collaborate across engineering teams and technical departments to ensure robust infrastructure design.
* Lead technical evaluations, pilots, and proof-of-concepts to inform design decisions.
* Champion best practices in data engineering, governance, and agile delivery.
* Mentor and guide technical teams, sharing expertise and fostering knowledge growth.
Required Experience & Skills
* Extensive hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks, including data storage, security, networking, and cost optimisation.
* Strong understanding of engineering methodologies and data sharing capabilities.
* Experience designing secure, scalable cloud solutions for data-driven organisations.
* Agile and DevOps mindset, familiar with Git, Jira, and modern delivery practices.
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
* Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Preferred Skills
* Familiarity with PowerBI (beneficial but not essential).
* Experience driving technical evaluations, pilots, and proof-of-concepts.
* Background in cloud security, cost optimisation, and governance practices.
