We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our Clinical Practice Research Datalink team in the Safety and Surveillance group.
This is a full-time opportunity,on apermanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The Safety and Surveillance Group brings together into a single integrated structure devices and medicines safety expertise with enforcement capabilities. These functions will be supported by our data and evidence generating capabilities complementing our signal generating capabilities produced via the new Safety Connect System.
Part of the Safety and Surveillance group, The Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), with support from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), is the UK’s preeminent research service providing access to anonymised NHS data for research. In addition to supporting high quality observational research, CPRD has developed world leading services based on using real world data to support clinical trials and interventional studies.
What’s the role?
The Contracts Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to help build on the CPRD’s 30-years of providing data for drug safety and epidemiological studies, resulting in over 3,500 peer-reviewed publications investigating drug safety, use of medicines, effectiveness of health policy, health care delivery and disease risk factors. Join us to help support delivery of our real-world research services that inform clinical guidance and best practice
The Contracts Manager belongs to the CPRD Business Management team, reports to the Head of CPRD Contracts at CPRD and is responsible for providing effective contracts management for the range of services provided by and supplied to CPRD, in order to protect the business interests and reputation of CPRD.
Responsibilities include drafting bespoke contracts to support CPRD’s evolving research services; leading on negotiation of contracts with CPRD’s wide range of stakeholders; and effective governance and post-signature management of contracts.

Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be an expert negotiator, reaching resolution through a collaborative approach to deliver business objectives and will have knowledge and good understanding of contract law, intellectual property and data protection legislation and governance relating the use of patient data in research, including GDPR. You will also have excellent written communication and analytical skills with the ability to concisely and clearly present an organisation’s legal position.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrable experience in maintaining contract management systems and providing management status reports and will be a good team player, working closely with colleagues to deliver organisational objectives. Self-motivated, with a strong sense of personal accountability

Role
Certain roles within the MHRA will require post holders to have vaccinations, and in some circumstances, routine health surveillance. These roles include:
* Laboratory-based roles working directly with known pathogens
* Maintenance roles, particularly those required to work in laboratory settings
* Roles that involve visiting other establishments where vaccination is required
* Roles required to travel overseas where specific vaccination may be required.
