Overview

Are you interested in being part of the leadership of the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) at an important point in its development? If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to contribute to one of Scotland’s major cultural institutions, we would like to hear from you. The Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Culture is seeking to appoint seven new Trustees to the Board of the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS). Some of these posts will fill current vacancies, and others will be phased appointments to meet succession planning. NGS is a vibrant organisation, employing around 400 staff across its three Edinburgh sites. Its mission is to care for, develop, research and display the national collection of Scottish and international art, alongside a wide-ranging programme of exhibitions, learning, research and public engagement. NGS welcomes around two million visitors each year and reaches many more through its digital offer.
