To meet this demand, we are building an industry‑leading cyber‑security team in Belfast to protect our customers and data from a variety of fast‑moving and constantly evolving threats.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Security Ops Engineer to join our Belfast team. This role will work alongside our wider security, IT, development, platform and business teams across the world. You will be helping to lead incidents, reviewing and responding to both internal and external alerts, assisting users in operating securely, and ensuring our controls are healthy across our technology estate. We want our colleagues throughout ESO to operate securely, with a high degree of autonomy and minimal constraints, so we will be implementing automated controls, approvals and governance to enable this. You will be part of a high‑functioning, motivated and forward‑thinking team. You have the chance to join a growing and passionate team, working on critical products, whilst being supported with training opportunities and mentoring.
What You’ll Be Doing the Day to Day
 * Triaging and actioning alerts/incidents generated by internal security tools and control systems, and external data sources ESO subscribes to
 * Running security incidents as needed through to resolution, prioritising response and containment, liaising with stakeholders, and assisting with investigation and root cause analysis
 * Ensuring controls are successfully deployed and healthy across our technology estate
 * Dealing operationally with identity and access management requests, specific to privilege management and systems access
 * Assisting with vulnerability management program across the organisation
 * Assisting in the delivery of the identity lifecycle governance, process and compliance reporting
 * Helping to create policies and procedures for responding to alerts, events and incidents
 * Monitoring the security compliance of systems
 * Helping ESO colleagues get answers to security questions
 * Being a key part of our cyber‑security team, with tangible impact on the security of our systems
 * Responding to security and compliance issues generated via analysis or automated tools
 * Working collaboratively cross‑team, to impart your expertise across the organisation
 * Working in detail, shoulder‑to‑shoulder with our technology teams
Who You Are – Essential Requirements
 * At least 4 years of experience in a technology or security role, including Microsoft technologies
 * Experience securing systems by deploying patches and antivirus/antimalware/EDR solutions
 * Experience working with networks: switches, firewalls, wireless access points
 * Experience with toolsets such as vulnerability management, SIEM, PAM, IDS/IPS, or DLP platforms
Who You Are – Additional Attributes
 * Well versed in Microsoft, Linux and macOS operating systems
 * Passionate about what you do and understanding how your work impacts ESO’s success
 * Self‑motivated to get answers and understand root causes
Who You Are – Desirable
 * Experience or certifications in Microsoft Defender suite, Zscaler product suite, Tenable, NinjaOne
 * Experience or certifications in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 suite, Defender suite, Microsoft Sentinel, Privileged Identity Management, Purview
