We have an exciting opportunity in our Fleet Team for a Transport Enforcement Officer based at our Waterside Depot to cover the hours of 07:30 to 15:30 with a 30 minutes lunch break.
Your next role
The Transport Enforcement team play a vital role in supporting all service areas within Swindon Borough Council which include
1. Ensuring compliance with regard to the terms of the goods vehicle operator’s licence
2. This includes vehicle maintenance and driver compliance
3. Arranging driving assessments and induction/familiarisation training
4. Accurate data input into the fleet systems with regard to all fleet vehicles and drivers
5. Arranging ad hoc vehicle and driver spot checks
6. Coordinating the driver CPC programme
7. Assisting with the speeding enforcement process to include speed awareness coaching and training
8. Assisting with the weight monitoring process
9. Supervising the driver drink and drug testing programme
10. Producing fleet data to support the compliance and fleet manager collating key performance indicators
11. To cover other roles within the Fleet Department as required.
A good knowledge of Transport Legislation is required and to hold a Transport Managers CPC or be prepared to obtain this through our training scheme within the first 12 months of employment.
If required to be added by name to the Goods Vehicle Operators Licence.
Some driving experience and a Category C LGV licence is preferred but not essential.
Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
