Are you passionate about helping patients on their journey to recovery? Join our dynamic Physiotherapy Department as a Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant. We have 2 part-time positions (split against a total of 45.75 hours) within inpatient services, supporting specialties including DME, Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Stroke, and Neurosciences.
As part of our experienced and friendly team, you'll work closely with patients presenting a wide range of conditions, playing a key role in their functional progression. Youll receive training and support to develop your skills, managing a delegated caseload and assisting Physiotherapists with more complex cases.

Main duties of the job
* Assist physiotherapists by delivering joint treatments and creating a safe treatment environment, working both supervised and independently with delegated patient caseloads.
* Manage and progress patient treatment programmes, monitoring patient responses and reporting significant changes to physiotherapists.
* Maintain accurate patient records, ensure cleanliness and safety of equipment and treatment areas, and liaise effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
* Communicate clearly with patients of varying abilities and needs, motivating and involving families to support rehabilitation.
* Participate in ongoing training and competency development, maintaining professional standards and contributing to service improvements.
* Work flexibly to meet service needs, including shifts covering weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with appropriate rostering and unsocial hours pay.

Qualifications and requirements
Essential
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* Experience in dealing with members of the public
* Experience working as a team member and with indirect supervision
* Experience of personal care in a work or home setting
Desirable
* Experience working with individuals with a disability or illness and assisting with personal care
* Experience in health/caring settings; working with physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists
* Experience in project groups on service development; hands-on moving and handling of patients
Knowledge and skills
* Confidentiality in healthcare; customer service; literacy/numeracy; self-directed learning
* Good organisational and inter-personal skills; ability to communicate with diverse patients
* Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, e-mail)
Additional requirements

* Ability to work in a clinical setting with severely ill or infectious patients
