Mechanical Assembly Technician –£30k-£38k- Basildon(Essex) - Perm
Our client is looking to appoint a Mechanical Assembly Technician to support the build, fitting, and preparation of machinery and enclosures on the production floor. This is a hands-on, varied role that involves everything from material preparation to on-site installation and support.
Working with a range of specialist equipment, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality assemblies that meet both internal standards and customer expectations.
What you’ll be doing as a Mechanical Assembly Technician -

Machining and preparing base materials, including fitting locks and hardware.
*
Building and assembling structural frames for integration into machinery.
*
Carefully dismantling tested systems and preparing them for transport and reassembly at customer sites.
*
Completing minor pneumatic assembly tasks.
*
Supporting machinery build, installation, commissioning, and servicing—both in-house and at customer facilities (occasional international travel may be required).
What you’ll bring to the team as a Mechanical Assembly Technician -

Strong practical engineering background with experience in mechanical assembly and basic machining.
*
Ability to read and follow mechanical assembly drawings with precision.
*
A keen eye for detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
*
A collaborative approach to working in teams, alongside solid problem-solving skills.
*
Ability to maintain care and accuracy during repetitive tasks.
*
Understanding of health and safety practices within a workshop or factory setting.
*
Recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
Desirable experience -
*
Experience working on production lines or with automated equipment.
*
Involvement in machinery commissioning or servicing.
*
Familiarity with mechanical testing and fault-finding.
