The starting salary for this role is £41,585 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

Our newly redesigned workforce is integral to achieving our aims and ambitions for the future and we are looking for a Support Officer to join our team.

The role is hybrid with a weekly balance of remote and in person working 2 days a week. Our base is the Surrey County Council, Dakota building in Weybridge.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating administrative support to the Director LGPS Senior Officer and the Pensions Senior Leadership Team (PSLT), enabling them to deliver key service priorities aligned with the Surrey Pension Team's vision and mission. This includes organising meetings and away days across Surrey and beyond, managing diaries, coordinating PSLT meetings with detailed minute-taking and action tracking, and producing correspondence, reports and presentations. You'll ensure stakeholders are well-briefed and equipped for meetings, while maintaining effective relationships with internal and external contacts such as Members, officers, scheme employers, suppliers, and organisations like the PLSA, LAPFF and LGA.

In addition, you'll assist with raising and monitoring purchase orders and invoices, becoming a proficient user of the organisation's ERP system and other relevant software. You'll support recruitment activity when required and take ownership of the Pension Team forward plan, ensuring it is kept up to date and shared with the appropriate stakeholders. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the PSLT operates efficiently and is well-supported in delivering its strategic objectives.

* The ability to work on your own initiative, with solution-focused problem-solving skills.
* Proficient IT skills and the ability to learn new software quickly
* Maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external colleagues and stakeholders, including Members, officers, external organisations, scheme employers, supplier and business representative groups, including the Fund actuary, and investment advisors.
* Proven written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to manage a range of projects through to completion
