Overview
Location: Situated in one of England's prettiest villages, The Slaughters Manor House is a beautiful 17th Century manor house offering attentive service with one of the most acclaimed restaurants in the Cotswolds. With 4 AA red stars and 3 AA rosettes, the hotel provides an opportunity to work within a quality property in a picturesque location. The hotel is open Tuesday to Saturday each week, which typically gives employees Sundays and Mondays off.
Service charge: We pay our team service charge every month. This service charge goes into one pot and 100% of it is shared amongst all staff. For a full-time employee, service charge can be in the region of £250 a month (roughly £3,000 per year) in addition to base pay. Role
Reception Manager – join our team and let your passion and personality shine. Our culture values thoughtfulness towards colleagues and guests, and this role is suited to someone with experience in a similar hotel environment. As host to our guests, you will play a key part in helping ensure memorable experiences.
Responsibilities
* Manage a wonderful reception and nights team.
* Maintain stock levels and order stationery to avoid shortages (Procure Wizard).
* Train new staff to uphold our high service standards.
* Participate in the Duty Manager rota alongside Heads of Department.
* Recruit new talent when vacancies arise.
* Greet and assist guests from check-in to check-out, including booking tables and advising on local hotspots.
* Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth operations.
* Be flexible with rosters to support work–life balance for the team.
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar hotel environment preferred.
* Strong customer service and leadership skills; ability to manage a team and train staff.
* Comfort with guest relations from check-in to check-out and with upselling or recommending local experiences.
