The Home and Community Safety team is a small team within Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue. This team delivers Safe and Well visits to the most vulnerable people within our community to reduce the risk of fire in the home. The is a team who supports the rest of the service in delivering fire safety education across Oxfordshire.

About the Role (12 Month Secondment or 12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

The Prevention Administrative Support role provides efficient and effect administrative support to the core activities of the prevention team within Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service, this role is the first point of contact for requests for Safe and Well visits and any fire related safeguarding concerns from other professionals, and members of the public. This role will prioritise requests relevant to vulnerability. Responses to requests need to be processed in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that those vulnerable within Oxfordshire receive a visit within set time scales. This role will provide resilience to the safeguarding lead.

About you

You will be a person who can build excellent working relationships with professionals and members of the public. You will be a highly organised individual who is self-motivated, with good IT skills and be competent with Microsoft Office application. Be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English A-C or equivalent score of 4.

We are looking for someone who is able to provide efficient first-class customer service to all.

Application and Selection Process

The successful candidate will demonstrate through the application form, interview and presentation that they fulfil the essential criteria for the role.

Face to face Interviews will be held at Fire Service HQ - Date to be confirmed

The interview will consist of a series of questions and a short typing assessment.

Appointment is conditional upon undertaking an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Anticipated start pending pre employment checks (DBS and references).
