Responsibilities
1. Manage procurement across multiple live housing developments
2. Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
3. Prepare and issue enquiries, analyse tenders, and make recommendations
4. Place orders and subcontract packages in line with budgets and programmes
5. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
6. Monitor costs, budgets, and value engineering opportunities
7. Ensure materials are delivered on time to avoid site delays
8. Maintain procurement schedules and buying reports
9. Support continuous improvement of buying processes and supply chain performance
10. Work collaboratively with site, technical, and commercial teams
About You
11. Experience in a Buyer or Assistant Buyer role within housebuilding or construction
12. Strong knowledge of materials procurement and subcontract packages
13. Confident negotiating and managing supplier relationships
14. Commercially aware with good cost control skills
15. Organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
16. Strong communication and teamwork skills
17. Proficient with Excel and procurement/COINS systems (or similar)
