Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Barking & Dagenham, East London
Contract: Full-Time, ixed-term
Salary: Paid to scale (dependent on experience)
A warm, inclusive, and community-driven primary school in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young children’s learning and development in their crucial foundation stage.
About the Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support the Class Teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning activities.
* Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils, including children with additional needs.
* Help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment.
* Assist with observations, assessments, and maintaining EYFS learning journals.
* Encourage children’s personal, social, and emotional development.
* Support pupils during outdoor learning, free play, and daily routines.
Person Specification
* A qualified practitioner who holds NNEB or equivalent.
* Experience of working with SEND particularly ASD.
* Experience working in an Early Years setting is highly beneficial.
* Warm, caring, and patient approach when working with young children.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
* Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to pupil wellbeing.
