Title: Commercial Agreement Manager / Commercial Officer Location: UK - Multiple Locations with Hybrid (with 26 days per quarter office attendance) - Liverpool, Birmingham, Newport, Norwich, and London Pay Rate: Depends on Experience Type & Duration: Contract |6 Months Contract with InsideIR35 Job Description: Role Overview As a Commercial Officer within the Commercial Function the successful candidate will be responsible for: sourcing, sales and contract management. The role provides working level support for portfolios, operating as a supervised practitioner in their area of responsibility and can have delegations which include sourcing, contract management, or sales. Working as part of a team of up to six staff, you will typically be working for a Commercial Manager developing procurement requirements with other Client staff and internal projects. You will determine procurement strategies and support value for money tendering including negotiation with suppliers and supplier selection. You will place contracts and ensure effective supplier performance through whole life management of contracts while also providing accurate and timely commercial data. You will also be successfully developing yourself via experience, mentoring and formal training, with the Civil Service being leaders in investing in people. Key Responsibilities: Commercial Leadership : Lead supplier and customer activities across the category, providing commercial support, advice, and challenge. Category Management : Develop and maintain robust category strategies and manage commercial agreements through all stages. Collaboration : Work proactively with stakeholders to drive innovation, value for money, and customer satisfaction. NEC Contracts : Solid understanding of NEC Contracts is essential. Supplier & Customer Engagement : Manage commercial agreements and drive retention/growth in spend, while improving service quality. Commercial Benefits : Implement initiatives that deliver savings and other commercial benefits. Procurement & Sourcing : Support sourcing projects, supplier management, and risk management. Documentation : Prepare specifications, award criteria, and pricing models for new or renewed agreements.
