Job Description:
As a Fettler (Dresser), you will play a vital role in preparing, finishing, and inspecting fabricated metal components before painting, assembly, or dispatch. This hands-on position requires strong attention to detail, a focus on quality, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out grinding, deburring, linishing, and polishing operations to achieve smooth and accurate finishes.
* Clean and prepare components by removing rust, grease, and other surface contaminants.
* Inspect metal parts to ensure they meet the required tolerances and quality standards.
* Support welders and fabricators by dressing welds and preparing items for the next production stage.
* Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
* Keep work areas clean and organised, following company 5S and safety procedures.
* Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets, and quality records.
* Assist with packing, loading, and despatch duties when required.

Skills & Experience:
To excel as a Fettler (Dresser), you’ll need:
* Proven experience in fettling, grinding, or finishing fabricated metal components.
* A good understanding of manufacturing or engineering processes.
* The ability to interpret technical drawings and follow detailed instructions.
* Excellent manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.
* A positive attitude towards health, safety, and continuous improvement.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work shift patterns and assist in other areas as needed.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a Fettler (Dresser) or similar finishing role.
* Forklift Truck (FLT) licence – training provided for the right candidate.
