The Opportunity
A well-established, forward-thinking main contractor is seeking a Design Coordinator to support the delivery of multiple Build to Rent and Student Accommodation schemes across the Midlands.
With a strong pipeline of secured work and several live projects across key regional cities including Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester and Coventry, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business specialising in high-density residential developments.
Projects typically range from £30m–£100m+, comprising multi-storey apartment blocks, student accommodation schemes, amenity spaces, and mixed-use elements.
The role offers flexibility to be based anywhere in the Midlands, with travel to project sites as required.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Design Manager in coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to completion
*
Review and manage consultant and subcontractor design information
*
Ensure design compliance with employer’s requirements, planning conditions, and building regulations
*
Coordinate technical submissions and manage RFI processes
*
Monitor design programme to ensure information is issued in line with construction schedules
*
Identify and manage design risks and value engineering opportunities
*
Attend design team meetings and liaise with site and commercial teams
Candidate Requirements
*
Experience in a Design Coordinator or Technical Coordinator role within a main contractor or residential developer
*
Strong understanding of high-rise residential, BTR, or student accommodation projects
*
Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and design standards
*
Experience working with consultants and managing design programmes
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Construction, Architecture, or a related discipline
*
Strong organisational and communication skills
