Overview
Specialist Occupational Therapist role at Temple B'nai Abraham. This opportunity is with ARC Services, jointly funded by CTM UHB and Bridgend County Borough Council, working within a community mental health support service in Bridgend.
The post sits within an established team of occupational therapists and support staff. The service is co-located with the Local Primary Mental Health Support Service (LPMHSS) psychological therapy team and mental health social workers, with collaborative working arrangements in place.
The post-holder will take referrals from a range of mental health services, undertake specialist OT assessment, intervention planning and evaluation, and work collaboratively with individuals to identify personal goals and implement a person-centred plan to maximise functioning and independence in the community. Regular review and evaluation of progress will be part of the role.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Welsh language skills are not essential, but an advantage in shortlisting and selection. This is for Speaking & Listening at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 involves basic conversations with patients about everyday health. Responsibilities
* Receive referrals from LPMHSS, psychiatric outpatient clinics, crisis and home treatment services.
* Perform specialist OT assessments, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
* Develop and implement person-centred plans to maximise independence within the community.
* Collaborate with support staff to implement plans and regularly review progress with individuals on caseload.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with eligibility to practice.
* Welsh Desirable: Speaking & Listening Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above (not essential).
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a community setting.
