About the Role An outstanding 11–18 academy in the North East is seeking a passionate Religious Education Teacher to join its Humanities faculty from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 to 5 in a school that combines academic excellence with a strong moral and spiritual ethos. Key Details Position: Teacher of Religious Education Contract: Full-time, permanent Start Date: January 2026 Key Stages: 3 – 5 Suitable for: Experienced teachers or confident ECTs The Department and Facilities The Humanities faculty is one of the school’s academic strengths, and Religious Education plays a central role in shaping students’ understanding of ethics, philosophy and global faith. Lessons are designed to promote respectful discussion, analytical thinking and personal reflection, encouraging students to explore their own beliefs and values while understanding others’. The department places a strong emphasis on discussion, critical analysis and the ability to communicate ideas with clarity and confidence. You’ll also: Prepare and support GCSE and A-Level students through challenging, engaging content Contribute to departmental planning and resource development Lead or support enrichment activities such as conferences, themed assemblies and trips Take an active role in pastoral life, modelling the school’s values and inclusive ethos About You You’ll bring: QTS, PGCE or equivalent qualification A strong academic background in Religious Studies, Philosophy or a related field A passion for debate, ethics and exploring worldviews A reflective, supportive and professional approach to teaching The ability to inspire curiosity, empathy and respect in your students About the School This 11–18 academy is nationally recognised for its high standards, inclusive ethos and distinctive values-based education.
