Hays are partnering with a well‑established and highly respected precast and civil engineering solutions manufacturer who supply major infrastructure, construction, and civils projects across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Civil Sales Manager to lead their civils sales and estimating function at their Ballymena site.
Your new role
In this leadership position, you will manage the Civils Sales and Estimating team and play a key role in drivingmercial performance. You will oversee the preparation of accurate cost estimates, lead tender submissions, and ensure the delivery ofpetitive and profitable proposals.
You will build strong relationships with contractors, engineers, and key stakeholders, identifying new opportunities and supporting the wider business development strategy.
Alongside yourmercial responsibilities, you will coach and support a team consisting of a Senior Estimator, Estimator, and apprentices - ensuring high standards, timely outputs, and excellent customer experience. You will also collaborate with internal teams including planning, logistics, quality, and production to ensure seamless delivery for clients.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Experience in a civil engineering, estimating, pricing, or construction‑related sales role
2. Previous team‑leading or management experience
3. Strongmercial acumen with the ability to prepare accurate quotations and tenders
4. Ability to interpret technical drawings and bar schedules
5. Excellentmunication and negotiation skills
6. Strong IT capability, ideally including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
7. A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
8. Ability to build strong client relationships and provide sound technical guidance
9. Highly organised with strong time‑management and problem‑solving abilities
