Responsibilities
As the Mechanical Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design team. The role involves managing a small team of 4 mechanical design engineers (approximately 75% management) while also contributing directly to mechanical design tasks (25%). The ideal candidate will have experience managing workflows, running weekly design reviews, budget control and checking designs.
* Lead and manage the mechanical design team (approximately 75% management with 25% hands-on design work).
* Coordinate workflows, run weekly design reviews, and monitor project progress.
* Manage budgets and check designs for quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
Qualifications
* Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
* Proven experience in mechanical design within automation, mechatronics, or related industries
* Prior leadership or managerial experience, preferably in a small team setting
* Proficiency with Inventor or other 3D CAD software
* Strong understanding of mechanical materials, manufacturing processes, and design for reliability
* Knowledge of pneumatics and control systems
* Knowledge of relevant standards and safety regulations
