Job Description

The Safety Specialist will report to the Safety Manager, support the site team, and ensure Strata Clean Energy, LLC complies with all applicable health and safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety excellence on our sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Build strong relationships with all employees to ensure they are aware of current policies, regulations, and processes.
* Act as an active Safety Champion, with a field presence required 70% of the workday.
* Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring to address at-risk behaviors or noncompliance.
* Participate in and occasionally lead weekly Safety Committee meetings.
* Conduct routine safety observations to identify error precursors and leading indicators.
* Document audit findings on EHS Insight and communicate effectively with site leadership.
* Conduct training sessions as assigned by the Safety Manager to support company EHS programs.
* Report all work-related incidents, near misses, and good catches.
* Conduct incident investigations for all work-related events, following the event reporting process.
* Verify that all corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
* Recommend improvements in processes, design, and procedures.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

* Minimum of five (5) years of health and safety construction experience; solar experience is a plus.
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
* High school diploma or equivalent (required). Current OSHA 500 certification is required. First Aid and CPR certifications are also required.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
* Ability to maintain an established work schedule, including weekends.
* Ability to communicate effectively across all levels and diverse cultures.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Proficiency with standard office software, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and audiovisual presentation tools.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

* Ability to walk and perform site inspections 70% of the day in various environmental conditions (cold, heat, wind, precipitation). Noise exposure may exceed 85 dB.
* Lift up to 35 pounds.
* Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances.
* Visual ability (20/20 corrected or uncorrected) to observe and detect signs of danger.
