Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN | Birmingham
Teaching Personnel is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in a purpose-built SEN school in North Birmingham, supporting pupils with EHCPs, including ASD, SEMH, and PMLD.
This full-time, term-time role is ideal for graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in special educational needs (SEN) and for those considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, social care, or youth work.
Job Details
Pay: £460–£495 per week (paid weekly)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Contract: Full-time, term-time
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support
Support pupils with autism, social, emotional, and complex needs
Assist teachers with lesson delivery and individual learning plans
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and inclusion
Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Ideal Candidate
Graduate in any subject (Psychology, Education, Sociology, Sports Science, or related fields preferred)
Genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs
Patient, empathetic, and resilient
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Previous experience with children or SEN is beneficial but not essential
Requirements
