We are seeking a skilled and motivated Team Manager to lead the team of social care professionals within the Adult Social Care Services. This is a key leadership role focused on delivering high-quality, strengths-based support to adults, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and needs are addressed effectively. As a manager you will be working with the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring your team is achieving the objectives and outcomes.

What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a locality-based team of Social Workers, Assessment and Enablement Workers (AEW), Senior AEWs, Community Support workers and Business Support team members.
2. Ensure the team delivers person-centred support in line with the Care Act 2014, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding adults at risk, promoting independence, and achieving positive outcomes.
3. Represent the Adult Social Care team in internal and external forums, developing service pathways and partnerships to meet local needs.
4. Provide expert oversight of safeguarding practice and manage risk across the locality.
5. Recruit, supervise, and support staff, promoting continuous professional development and identifying training needs.
6. Work collaboratively with other locality teams and wider council services to improve integration and service delivery.
7. Manage resources effectively, including budget oversight and authorisation of care packages.
8. Ensure data and information quality performance
9. Support the implementation of service plans and Adult Social Care Strategy outcomes.
10. Investigate and respond to complaints
About you
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
11. Demonstrated experience in supervising and managing staff, including qualified professionals, within a social care setting.
12. Preferably a recognised professional qualification (Degree or Diploma) in health or social care and hold relevant professional registration.
13. Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and safeguarding frameworks.
14. Experience in leading safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act.
15. Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
16. Proficiency in IT systems and confident in presenting information to various audiences.
