Job Description
As a Regional EHS Manager you will embed a highly professional and extensive regional safety framework that delivers high levels of operational safety performance and ensures the transformation of activity, safety standards and behaviours through our people.
To be successful in this role you need be a good communicator and be able to build strong relationships. Although you will be part of a team you this role is standalone therefore you need to be motivated and work well by yourself. You will need to have or be working towards a Diploma NEBOSH.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out and completing risk assessments (Process, Workplace Transport, COSHH, Manual Handling, PUWER etc)
2. Developing and implementing all Health and Safety associated policies and procedures, amending and updating as required
3. Ensuring the Health and Safety policies and procedures are adopted by the business and its various operations as appropriate.
4. Ensuring Depots adopt appropriate Health and Safety targets and standards for their own areas of responsibility in the control of loss and operation of best safety practice
5. Assisting and supporting sites, reviewing the standard of accident investigations
6. Attending Health and Safety Meetings
7. Delivering Health and Safety Training
8. Developing Health and Safety presentations
9. Monitoring and auditing safety performance in regards to:
10. Internal safety systems
11. Statutory requirements
12. Industry benchmark standards UK
13. Industry benchmark standards European
14. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with appropriate representatives of the HSE / LA and any other appropriate external bodies
15. Assessing the competence of external contractors and maintaining any approved contractor listing
16. Compiling written briefs to update the business on changes to legislation, codes of practice, industry best practice or other sources.
Qualifications
17. A minimum of 5 years experience in an operationally facing H&S Role
18. Previous experience of Health & Safety within industry, ideally transport and logistics but not essential
19. Knowledge / experience of DTAS would be an advantage but not essential
20. Excellent organisational and communication skills
21. Computer literate with a good understanding of MS office applications
22. Able to work to tight deadlines and manage own time effectively
23. Full UK driving licence, willing to travel as required within the UK
24. Thorough understanding of current Health & Safety Legislation and its implementation within the workplace
25. NEBOSH Certificate minimum, Diploma / Degree desirable
26. Member of IOSH
