As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the IP, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
2. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
6. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
7. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
8. Robust experience in developing complex, data-intensive applications at the enterprise level.
9. Proficient in core Java and advanced features, with extensive experience in using frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate to build robust applications.
10. Capable of handling both front-end and back-end development, with proficiency in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Java-based web frameworks.
11. Skilled in designing scalable and maintainable software architectures, including experience with microservices and cloud-based solutions.
12. Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex issues and optimizing application performance, with experience using profiling and monitoring tools.
13. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
14. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
