About the Role
Civitas Charity Recruitment is partnering with an independent national legal charity seeking a Senior Research Fellow to join its esteemed research team. The organization aims to ensure that disadvantaged individuals can access justice and hold power to account. Its work includes legal research, policy development, litigation, and training to promote fairness and improve public decision-making.
This role involves leading impactful research that supports access to justice and influences administrative law reform. You will collaborate with experienced colleagues and contribute to a vision of a fairer, more inclusive society. The position requires empirical research skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate research into actionable outcomes.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have a strong understanding of public and administrative law and awareness of justice barriers faced by many. A proven track record in designing and delivering impactful empirical research, along with effective communication skills, is essential. Experience in developing research-informed policy, working with external partners, and contributing to funding bids is desirable. Commitment to equity, collaboration, and courage is vital. Lived experience or prior work with marginalized communities is an asset.
Details
This is a permanent position based in London, with flexible working options. The role can be full-time or part-time (minimum 28 hours/week). Salary: £45,669 per annum, with eligibility for a cost-of-living uplift. Benefits include a 10% employer pension contribution after one year, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and flexible working from day one.
