Risk & Compliance Manager

The Opportunity
A well-established and growing insurance provider is seeking an experienced
Risk & Compliance Manager
to take ownership of its compliance function, ensure adherence to FCA requirements, and embed a strong culture of governance, accountability, and risk awareness across the organisation.
This is a key leadership role offering the chance to shape the compliance framework, influence decision-making at senior level, and play a pivotal part in safeguarding the business as it continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Risk & Compliance team, delivering a robust programme of risk-based monitoring.
* Provide expert regulatory guidance and act as a trusted adviser to senior management and wider stakeholders.
* Monitor emerging risks, industry developments, and regulatory changes, implementing timely and practical solutions.
* Oversee product governance and ensure full compliance with FCA Consumer Duty requirements.
* Manage and maintain policies, frameworks, and procedures to reflect best practice and regulatory expectations.
* Build and manage effective relationships with the FCA, ICO, Financial Ombudsman Service, and other regulatory bodies.
* Coordinate regulatory returns, internal and external audits, and incident reporting.
* Deliver engaging training and communication initiatives to promote compliance awareness across all levels of the business.
* Support the development of a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk management.
About You
* Significant experience in compliance leadership within an FCA-regulated insurance or financial services environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of the FCA Handbook, Consumer Duty, and related regulatory frameworks.
* Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and effectively.
* Skilled in analysing and managing risk, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
* Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
* A collaborative leader who can inspire and develop a high-performing team.
