The Building Standards Team has a key role in transforming the City and has been heavily involved in the delivery of the £1 billion project to transform Dundee into a world-leading waterfront destination. A key component of this project was the successful delivery of the Kengo Kuma-designed V&A Dundee, which has attracted international attention. Further exciting and complex construction development opportunities lie ahead, with some forming part of the £ million Tay Cities Deal. The Eden Project Dundee is a further example of Dundee’s bold and creative ambition. Requirements
You will have an appropriate construction related qualification minimum HNC, or equivalent level of demonstrable competence gained through experience.
Responsibilities
You will assist the Team Leader (Building Standards) in carrying out the City Council’s Statutory function as a Building Standards authority.
The Individual
You will have experience in all aspects of the Building Standards role, in the construction industry, sound knowledge of the Building Scotland Act and associated statutory instruments and knowledge of working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Office, Word, Excel, Teams. You will have the ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing the ability to prioritise workloads, meeting challenges and deadlines, committed to a high standard of customer care and a methodical approach to problem solving with sound organisational skills. You will be commitment to further personal development and training. A driving licence is required.
