Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Romiley from September. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The Role:
* Working 6.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, term time only
* Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, planning support, and differentiation
* Implementing behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
* Supporting students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
* Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence
* Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and SENCO
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience working with SEN students in a school or similar setting
* Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
* Patient, resilient, and adaptable
* Confident supporting students with additional needs and challenging behaviour
* Passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact
