Job Opportunity: Principal CE&I Engineer

🔧 About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal CE&I Engineer to lead, manage and deliver high‑quality CE&I design solutions for a major nuclear processing, storage and decommissioning facility. This is a senior technical role requiring strong leadership, deep engineering expertise and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, Responsible Engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping design strategy, ensuring compliance with Sellafield, British and European Standards, and guiding projects from early concept through to detailed design and tender documentation.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
Lead the management, review and delivery of CE&I design deliverables for complex nuclear projects.
Interpret and implement Sellafield, British and European Standards to produce bespoke tender documentation and associated design outputs.
Conduct site surveys and translate findings into robust engineering solutions.
Develop client task forms, Concept Stage Reports and full detailed design packages.
Produce and manage high‑quality reports, specifications and tender documentation.
Liaise closely with clients, Responsible Engineers and key stakeholders to capture requirements and ensure alignment across all parties.
Communicate technical information effectively through minutes, engineering reports, presentations and internal project review meetings.
Oversee CE&I services including:
LV and final circuit distribution for lighting and power
Criticality Incident Detection Alarm System (CIDAS) speaker cabling
Associated battery and charger systems
Emergency lighting central battery systems
🎯 What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in CE&I engineering within the nuclear or highly regulated sectors.
Strong understanding of relevant Sellafield, British and European Standards.
Demonstrable experience leading design teams and managing complex engineering deliverables.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Strong technical writing skills and experience producing high‑quality engineering documentation.
Chartered Engineer status (or working toward it) is highly desirable.
