Prospero Teaching is looking for compassionate, proactive, and inspiring Mentors to support children and young people in Waterlooville who may be facing challenges in their personal development.
This is a chance to be a positive adult role model and help young people build confidence, self-esteem, and essential life skills they may not have had the opportunity to develop.
Location: Waterlooville and nearby areas
Hours: 2-15 hours per week per child
Age Range: 4 years old to post-16 (majority are secondary age)
As a Mentor, you will:
Build confidence and self-esteem
Teach life skills and promote independence
Support mental health through activities like walking, cooking, playing games, and exploring interests
Help young people navigate the world with resilience and positivityYou'll be working 1:1 with young people, tailoring sessions to their individual needs and interests, and helping them grow into well-rounded individuals.
About you:

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
