The Gynaecological Unit, led by Mr John Butler, at the Royal Marsden has a strong reputation for its multidisciplinary approach to the management of gynaecological malignancy. The gynaecology research team, led by Professor Banerjee, is world class developing, leading and delivering phase I–III clinical trials several of which have led to changes in clinical practice.
This post involves working with Dr Alexandra Taylor at the Chelsea site of the Royal Marsden Hospital. It will include gynaecology radiotherapy, brachytherapy, stereotactic radiotherapy and systemic therapies.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality evidence based clinical oncology service, under the supervision of covering Consultants.
* Supervise ST1/2 trainees covering the oncology wards.
* Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and departmental educational meetings.
* Participate in and develop multi-disciplinary comprehensive care and support for patients and their families.
* Always have regard to the clinical and quality standards set out in the NHS Cancer Plan, the Improving Outcomes reports and National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance reports.
* Contribute to the clinical governance work undertaken in the Clinical Unit building on standards of best oncology practice. This will include participation in audit, CPD and other activities associated with Clinical and Research Governance as required by the Trust and/or by The Royal Colleges.
