BCUHB are looking to recruit a Continence Promotion Nurse to join our current Continence Staff within our Community Care Teams in Wrexham (East Area). We are committed to ensuring we meet the direct needs of our local Communities, maintaining individuals’ independence and improving their quality of life.
Main Duties
The post supports the delivery of safe and effective services for patients with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction. It is suitable for an experienced Community Staff Nurse or Acute Nurse with Urology / Colorectal care experience, wishing to develop their skills, knowledge and competencies in managing patients with Continence Care needs in a community setting. We look for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who enjoys the challenge of further developing our current services. Person Specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* Healthcare degree
* RGN Level 1
* Nurse Prescriber or working towards
* Evidence of CPD to Post Graduate level
* Teaching qualification or experience
Experience
* Community experience
* Experience in continence promotion/Urology/Gynaecology
* Experience working in a senior capacity as part of an MDT
Aptitude and Abilities
* Able to work as an autonomous practitioner
* Leadership and management skills
* Organisational and assessment skills
* Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to respect and value the contributions of others
Desirable Criteria
* Masters degree
* Management experience
* Experience in undertaking nurse-led clinics
* Willingness to undertake further training in the specialist role
