We are looking for a passionate, qualified Level 1 Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team within the Newcastle District. We are a community-based team within the older persons/physical disability sector, working with adults over 18 with a range of physical and mental health needs.
Our organisation is supportive and dynamic, offering opportunities to progress and develop in your social work career. We provide a specialist Social Work Learning Academy (SWLA), an internal training program offering ongoing social work training and professional development.
Upon appointment, you will be enrolled in the SWLA and aligned with the British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. Your SWLA 'stage' (Stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker), or 3 (Advanced Social Worker)) will be determined based on your prior CPD and experience. You will be responsible for your own ongoing professional development.

Main duties include:
* Carrying out assessments, including holistic needs-led assessments, care and support planning, reviews, and initiating multidisciplinary assessments where appropriate.
* Being an integrated team member, planning, actioning, monitoring, and evaluating work under supervision.
* Collaborating with other services to provide seamless care, focusing on safe and effective transitions.
Participate in duty/ACCESS or priority rota, performing assessments for health and social care services using various tools, including a Risk Screening Tool.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* Professional social work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, BA, MA, or equivalent)
* Current registration with the social work regulatory body
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* Training to achieve ASYE
* Good IT skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, PowerPoint)
* Understanding of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
Experience
Essential
Experience working with adults and older adults with mental health needs and their carers.
Desirable
