Senior Business Development Manager Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager with a proven track record in wholesale confectionery or FMCG. The ideal candidate will already have established relationships with large distributors, buying groups, and major supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, and symbol groups. Your focus will be to drive revenue growth by leveraging your network, developing new business, and maximising sales from existing accounts. Senior Business Development Manager Key Responsibilities Identify, approach, and win new distribution opportunities with major accounts. Leverage existing industry contacts to secure listings and expand market share. Develop and implement a sales strategy to deliver significant revenue growth. Proactively follow up leads generated from exhibitions, inbound enquiries, and marketing campaigns. Maintain strong relationships with current distributors and monitor weekly sales performance: Identify distributors who have not placed orders recently. Analyse order volumes against historical averages. Track and promote underperforming product lines. Use LinkedIn and other professional networks to engage with buyers and key decision-makers. Prepare accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and growth plans. Senior Business Development Manager Candidate Profile Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development or national account management within the wholesale confectionery, snacks, or FMCG sector. Proven track record of securing and managing large retail and wholesale accounts. Strong network of contacts across distributors, supermarkets, and buying groups. Highly commercial mindset with strong negotiation and closing skills. Self-motivated and results-driven, capable of working independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Senior Business Development Manager Salary & Benefits Base Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience and network) Car Allowance / Company Car: £5,000 annual car allowance or a fully expensed company vehicle.
